The Aboitiz Foundation, through KINDer, its advocacy crowdfunding website, raised P1.2 million through more than 600 individual donors in a span of eight months. This amount includes additional funds from the foundation itself.
The Aboitiz Foundation held its first formal turnover of its pooled funds amounting to P610,000 to three charity groups ー Bangketa Eskwela, Smile Train Philippines, and AHA! (Angels Here Abound) Learning Center. KINDer will also turn over funds to other partner-organizations including CORA Foundation, Junior Chamber International-Davao, Ideas Positive Alumni Community, Tebow Cure Hospital, Davao Light, AboitizLand, and Pilmico to enable them to reach their respective development goals.
“Beyond today, let us all work together to make KINDer a more powerful website — a platform that is able to create a giving mindset and a sharing behavior, and a campaign that moves people to be kind and to care. May we, as KINDer ambassadors, gather to advocate for safe, empowered, and sustainable communities,” said Aboitiz Foundation COO Maribeth L. Marasigan.
Through a few clicks, KINDer users may browse through various campaigns, learn more about it, and donate to provide support–similar to what Netflix has done for movies and shows in terms of access and choice, and what Kickstarter has done as an effective funding platform in realizing creative projects ーin this case, to support a cause. KINDer also welcomes partnerships with foundations in need of a fundraising platform.
